「APLEC2023（亞太區喇沙教育會議）於2023年4月11-13日，在澳洲悉尼舉行，來自亞太區不同國家和地區的代表濟濟一堂，共同為新世代的青少年教育尋找新方向。香港區派出了十二位代表參與這次會議，而我有幸成為其中一員。
第一次參與這種州際性的盛大會議，出發前的心情的確有些忐忑不安，恐怕自己力有不逮。但抵達悉尼後，首先是給當地優美的景色及清新的空氣所吸引，即使過了九小時的機程，也絲毫不覺疲憊。一連三日的會議，香港區的代表相互之間有不少的交流，針對各所學校不同的情況交換教學心得，更難得的是能與不同國家地區的代表交流，大家毫無保留的誠摯分享，令我獲益良多，也令我思考在新世代，如何為青少年教育譜寫新篇章。
澳洲的同工特別強調與青年同行，信任青年，給予他們選擇、參與的權利，並在適當的時間做適當的事，令青年感受到我們的善意、支持，同時讓他們有機會回饋社會，與社區建立連繫，為青年創造成功的經驗。此外，澳洲同工及喇沙會修士們也非常關注教育工作者個人的身心健康，如何能令自己勞逸結合，保持初心，切勿讓自己陷入耗盡精力及心神的境地，所以特別提醒我們休息、充電的重要，不只是為自己，也是為青少年教育持續走更遠的路。
短短的三天，實在是滿載而歸，不只是紀念品，還有與其他香港喇沙會學校同工的友誼、對青年教育工作眼界的開闊、與不同國家地區同工的交流，當然還有悉尼的美景。這是一個奇妙的復活節，感恩天主的特別安排，願我們為青年教育工作繼續奉獻自己，為青年的未來努力。」
“APLEC2023 (Asia-Pacific Lasallian Educators Conference 2023) held in Sydney, Australia on April 11-13, 2023. The theme is “A new Legacy for a new Time”. Representatives from different countries and regions in the Asia-Pacific region gathered together to find a new direction for the education of young people in the new generation. Hong Kong sent twelve representatives to participate in this meeting, and I was honored to be one of them.
It was the first time to participate in this kind of grand interstate meeting, and I felt a little uneasy before departure, and I was afraid that I would not be able to do it. But after arriving in Sydney, I was first attracted by the beautiful scenery and fresh air. Even after a nine-hour flight, I didn't feel tired at all. During the three-day meeting, the representatives from Hong Kong had a lot of exchanges with each other. They exchanged teaching experiences according to the different situations of each school. What was even more rare was that they were able to communicate with representatives from different countries and regions. Everyone shared sincerely without reservation. It has benefited me a lot, and it also made me think about how to write a new chapter for youth education in the new generation.
Colleagues in Australia especially emphasize walking with young people, trusting young people, giving them the right to choose and participate, and doing the right thing at the right time, so that young people can feel our kindness and support, and at the same time give them the opportunity to give back to the society, build connections with the community. We must try to create successful experiences for young people. In addition, Australian co-workers and La Salle Brothers are also very concerned about the physical and mental health of educators, how to combine work and rest, maintain the original intention, and don't let yourself fall into a situation where energy and mind are exhausted. Therefore, we are specially reminded of the importance of rest and recharging, not only for ourselves, but also for continuing to go further for the education of young people.
In just three days, it was really rewarding, not only souvenirs, but also the friendship with other La Salle school workers in Hong Kong, the broadening of the vision of youth education work, the sharings with colleagues from different countries and regions, and of course the beautiful view of Sydney. This is a wonderful Easter. We are grateful for God’s special arrangements. May we continue to dedicate ourselves to youth education and work hard for the future of youth.”
