Comedy Musical Drama
(May 4 and 5 , 2017)
Written and Directed by Stuart Mead
There’s a big drama competition in town – with a big first prize. Two schoolboys – Daniel and Alex – decide to enter. Not only do they each have the difficult job of writing a good script, but they also have the challenge of finding and training their own group of actors from among their schoolmates.
The boys who are the possible actors have their own ideas about what a good drama needs. Their ideas include: sad songs, a missing leg, a ladder, a hammer, an elephant, some kung fu fighting, a lot of boxes, and much more.
Will it be Daniel or Alex who succeeds in getting the other boys interested in acting in his drama, and will any of the boys’ ideas be used in the final show?
The situation is already complicated enough, but it is made more chaotic with the addition of Jerry the school janitor, Darryl’s large dog, Vinny’s spider, Peter the pizza boy, Malcolm’s desire to build a very tall tower of boxes, and Daniel and Alex’s attempts to get some teachers involved in the dancing. And will Sonny’s idea-in-a-box be the best idea of all?
“The Show” is the story of how all these boys try to organise two different dramas, with a long list of personalities, possibilities and problems. What eventually gets decided, if anything?
There is plenty to keep the audience entertained – action, jokes, music, dancing, surprises and some real danger.
Everyone will find lots to enjoy in “The Show.”
“The Show” 是關於一班學生怎樣把兩套截然不同的劇本，經過重重波折，最後，成功地在適當的安排下，「順利」演出。
